Concept

A house taken apart to understand how it goes together

Luna House is studied here through an exploded axonometric, separating the building into the layers that make it up. The site plan and topography ground the building in its landscape and set its foundation. The ground floor slab above it carries circulation, openings, and utilities. Walls and structural frames rise from there to organize space and support the roof, which caps the building with its skylights and completes the envelope. Stacked back together, these layers form the complete assembled model — the same wooden study shown in the photographs below.
